About the Turbine

Turbine is a breathing technology that increases airflow through the nose by up to 38%. This improved breathing efficiency means you can generate more power during exercise and focus energy on other muscles.

Breathing is a compulsory part of everyday life, but we tend to complain when our breathing is laboured, rather than engaging in ways to make it more comfortable.

That’s where the Turbine comes into it’s own. It’s a soft, pliable polymer stent that dilates your nose in a way that nasal sports tapes can only dream of. It not only increases the amount of air you can inhale through your nose by up to 38%, it reminds you to breathe in a more controlled and efficient way.

What is the Turbine?

Turbine is globally patented nasal dilator, designed to fit comfortably inside the nose and gently open each individual nostril to allow more airflow during sport, physical exertion or focused breathing (such as yoga and meditation).

How does the Turbine enhance my breathing?

Turbine increases airflow through the nose by an average of 38%, helping to reduce the feeling of breathlessness.   Simply put, by dilating your nose (even slightly) you can increase the amount of air going in and also, importantly, increase the amount of exhaust air (CO2) you can expel.  And, as you know, when you’re going hard, every little bit helps.

Using Turbine allows you to breathe more efficiently with every breath, enabling the body to focus energy on the muscles that need it, when they need it.

When exercising, oxygen is extracted from the air in your lungs, absorbed into the blood stream and circulated to enable muscular contraction. Supplying your exercising muscles with the air they need, has a high energy cost; Turbine may help reduce this. Try it today and find out for yourself.

How does the Turbine feel when I'm wearing it?

Turbine is made from an ultra soft medical-grade polymer and is designed to follow the internal anatomical structures of the nose. The device gently dilates each individual nostril, via an adjustable ratchet mechanism, without putting pressure on the septum and can be worn comfortably for many hours.

How long does each Turbine last?

Each device is recommended for use up to 10 times. A single pack comes with three devices.

Who uses Turbine?

Chris Froome
Professional Cyclist, Team SKY

"Yesterday was my first outing with @theturbinecom. Noticable difference, will definitely use again!" - @Chrisfroome, Twitter, 24/08/14

Jack Bobridge
Professional Cyclist, Budget Fokrlifts

"Massive thanks to @theturbinecom for their support! I'm sure their product, the turbine, helped me in my ride #moreair" @JackBobridge, Twitter, 31/01/15
"Thanks again @theturbinecom I didn't take the record but I had great air flow. #moreair" @JackBobridge, Twitter, 31/01/15

Calvin Watson
Professional Cyclist, Trek Factory Racing Team

"Racing professionally for the Trek Factory Racing team is demanding. We use the most advanced training techniques and equipment, and as simple as it seems, breathing efficiently is vital to performance on the bike. When I discovered the Turbine, I discovered how to maximise my air intake. I'm surprised the difference it makes during training and racing"

Mark O'Brien
Professional Cyclist, Avanti Racing Team

"Breathing through the nose is critical for optimum performance, but it’s not as easy as it seems. The Turbine helped me focus on my breathing and my power wattage output improved considerably"

Baden Cooke
Former Green Jersey Winner and Orica Green-Edge Rider

"Having cycled at the highest levels internationally, I understand the pressures of performance and the need to be constantly improving. The Turbine can improve the way an athlete breathes, and controlling air in take is critical. I’m really looking forward to continuing the process of introducing the technology to pro-cyclists and teams around the world.”
